Opening Post

Hello everyone, and welcome to Silicon Valkyrie! Thank you for taking the time to read my blog. It’s a new adventure for me and I hope that you will find the content helpful, interesting, and relevant to your lifestyle. Developing this blog has been a learning experience and I am excited to see what the future brings.

As expressed in my Mission Statement I started Silicon Valkyrie to help women in the South Bay and Bay Area, by providing information and resources that will be of service to women, who, despite their struggles, strive to improve their lives, and those of their children and families.

I write from my own experiences as a Silicon Valley native, single mom, working professional, student, and as someone who lives with a chronic illness–I am a heart transplant recipient.  I understand how tough it can be to not only survive, but thrive in our beautiful but fast-paced and expensive area. I will also include personal essays and content that is relevant to the goals of the blog and that I hope you enjoy reading.

Being new to blogging, there are a few skills I’ve had to learn, and I’m sure I’ll make mistakes along the way. However, I will strive to learn from any mistakes, and do my best to write about things that you, my readers, care about. I welcome your feedback and am open to suggestions for topics and resources with the well being of women in mind. Please feel free to use the comment section to provide your input. Please keep in mind that all comments will be moderated by me. Let’s keep it positive ladies!
